Laser Hair Removal in Leicester

Tired of shaving and waxing? How about reducing your unwanted hair with an effective treatment?

Our Nd:YAG laser offers a rapid yet gentle way of removing unwanted hair. Using a medical-grade machine, statistics show that 60-95% of targeted hair is permanently gone after the recommended course of treatments.

Completely safe for all skin and hair types, Nd:YAG laser hair removal is a much faster and more efficient procedure than other laser or IPL treatments on the market today.

Viable Candidates For Laser Hair Removal

Unlike other methods, such as waxing and shaving, our laser hair removal device can offer a solution with long-lasting results for ALL skin types.

At Beauty by Teena, we guarantee safe, fast and effective hair reduction solutions for all skin types (1-VI). We also specialise in Asian and Afro-Caribbean skin types. We offer Gold Standard treatments and services at competitive prices, and results can be noticed after the first three treatments.

The hair will become finer and softer, less visible, and the growth will slow down more and more with each treatment. With the ND YAG Laser Hair Removal, you can say goodbye to ingrown hairs, shaving rash and stubble in the treated area. You may also see an improvement in the tone and texture of your skin.

We are pleased to be able to treat any skin type, from very fair to very dark. Our ND YAG lasers are completely safe for olive, brown and black skin tones. Unlike IPL (intense pulsed light), ND YAG laser hair removal is suitable for dark skin tones and hard-to-reach areas. In contrast to electrolysis, it can be used to remove hair all over the body.

Laser Hair Removal Timeline

Step 1: Consultation

Nothing is more important to us than your health and well-being. Prior to treatment, a consultation is conducted, during which a medical history is taken to confirm suitability for treatment. This is also a good opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.

Before treatment commences, you must provide written consent and a small test patch will be carried out.

Step 2: During Treatment

You will be asked to shave the hair off prior to treatment. You do not need to grow your hair for laser hair removal to be effective.

The applicator is placed on the skin, and a short pulse of light is released, targeting many follicles simultaneously. The applicator is then moved to a neighbouring area of skin, and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated.

Step 3: After Treatment

The hair follicles are damaged by heat, but the hairs remain in the follicles. The dead hairs shed after 1 – 3 weeks as the epidermis renews.

During this period, the hairs will seem to ‘grow’ as the new epidermis pushes them out.

Laser Hair Removal FAQs

What are the benefits of laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal offers a permanent reduction of up to 90%. Any hair that does grow back will be finer, lighter and softer, with the additional benefit of smoother skin. Laser hair removal vastly reduces the need for shaving and waxing, so you can say goodbye to ingrown hairs, shaving rash and stubble.

Invest in a course of laser hair removal and you may never have to wax or shave again – saving time and money in the long run.

Say goodbye to pigmentation and uneven skin left behind after constant shaving or waxing.

Can men have laser hair removal?

Yes. One of the reasons laser hair removal is ideal for men is that it works equally well across the entire body and has long-lasting results.

From a few unwanted tufts to an entire back, chest or stomach, laser hair removal is efficient and effective.

How permanent Is Laser Hair Removal?

In a sample of over 10,000 treatments, the average hair reduction after 12 treatments was 68 – 74%. A minimum of 6 treatments is required.

Hair growth has many factors, and hormones play a big part in it. So, top-up treatments to maintain the reduction may be required, but it is worth it to keep the skin smooth and the hair reduced and slow-growing—especially if you suffer from ingrown hairs.

Can you get cancer from Laser Hair Removal?

No—cancer is caused by the UV spectrum of light—ultraviolet light—which irradiates the cell’s DNA, causing irregular growth changes that can cause cancerous growths.

Laser hair removal uses the red spectrum of light—specifically infrared—which is only absorbed by the dark pigment in your hair called melanin. This causes no changes to your skin cells and is very safe.
